Randy Nelson
As a graduate of Oakland University with a degree in Physical Therapy, Randy Nelson has dedicated his entire career to Orthopedic Manual Medicine, Manual Therapy, Sports Medicine and Myofascial Release Therapy.

Prior to starting Grand Traverse Physical Therapy, Randy practiced Physical Therapy at The Fitness Center, North Sport and Excel Rehabilitation Services. When he first moved to northern Michigan, he worked with Gary Nedeveld & Associates based out of Grand Haven, where he later became a supervisor. In addition, Randy spent part of his career as a physical therapist with St. Joseph Hospital of Flint, Sports Care Specialist, Inc. of Troy and Don Graham Associates of Southfield.

Randy has completed several manual therapy courses including the Stanley Paris S1 and S2, as well as the Myofascial Release I and II with the Gorden Group. His primary course of treatment is myofascial release techniques through John Barnes P.T.

Penny Nelson
Penny Nelson graduated from Ferris State University with a B.S. in Applied Biology. Since then she has gone on to become Board Certified in Sports Medicine and is a Certified Aerobic Instructor and Personal Trainer specializing in Body Building Instruction.

Together, Penny and Randy Nelson have more than 30 years of experience in Orthopedic Physical Therapy and Myofascial Release Therapy. They are the only Traverse City-area therapists who have achieved Level 3 expertise in the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Therapy approach.

Women's Health Specialist

As a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in physical therapy and 18 years experience, Becky Roush has spent her entire career engaged in developing her knowledge and skills for the treatment of complex neurological and neuromuscular conditions. Becky comes to GTPT with training from the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC). There she treated patients with a variety of complex neurological conditions as well as patients with chronic pain who had been unsuccessful in other settings. She received a fellowship to study Vestibular Rehabilitation followed by Certification in Vestibular Rehabilitation through Emory University. She is the only therapist in our area who has completed all three levels of Pelvic Physical Therapy training from the Women’s Health Section of the American Physical Therapy Association.
